Nic-isms.

One of the best things about being a parent is having the ability to share the funny things your children say and do.

Nicholas, who is 7, often gets confused as to the correct usage of certain words.  For instance, while at the pool the other day, he and Max were throwing a ball.  It was one of those squishy water balls.  They would get it wet, sling it at the other, and end with a razz of smack-talk... to which I eventually put a stop to.  Max kept telling Nic that his throws were awful, and that he couldn't hit him.  During the latter part of this 'game', after much discussion about being kind to one another, Nic threw the ball.  Max caught it and said, "That was AWFUL, Nic!"  After a quick glance from me, he proceeded, "Awfully good, that is:)"  Nic grins, shrugs his shoulders, and says, "Well, I'll take that as a comment."

LOL... I had a little chuckle and corrected him; explaining that he should "take that as a 'compliment'".

One of my all time favorite 'sayings' Nic has is this:

"That is way unappropriated in this house!!"  He says this on a daily basis when seeing a boy kiss a girl on television, or Chris kiss me in the kitchen.  I've explained to him that the correct term is 'inappropriate', and not 'unappropriated'; however, my explanations have gone unheard... Sure does make for a good story though.
