Don't Shoot Your Eye Out.

Well, today has been full... Lots of prep work for tomorrow, and I think I'm running out of time:)  So, instead of finishing up all of the important things I need to be doing... I blog...

My morning started bright and early this morning.  We had purchased a refrigerator about two weeks ago... one for the garage, as my kids are getting older and we MUST have more room... They will, and have, eaten us out of house and home:)

The thermostat on the freezer was shot, and we had to have it replaced.  Needless to say, Lowes called this morning around 7:30, stating they would be here within a half an hour.  I crawled slowly out of bed, brushed my teeth, dawned the usual I've-not-done-my-hair-hat, and went out to unload the first fridge, while anxiously awaiting the second to arrive.  They got here on time, and that was that.

The rest of the day consisted of cleaning, laundry, making homemade rolls, jello salad, and sausage balls.  In the midst of all of that, I ran to Walmart for last minute items, talked on the phone, and took some pictures (when I figure out how to get them off of the camera, I'll post them).

After Chris got home from work, we allowed the kids to open a gift.  This has been a tradition in our family since Sydney was small, and we just can't seem to get the okay from the kiddos to change it, and ban gift opening on Christmas Eve:)

They opened the usual (Christmas pajamas), and then we allowed them to open a TOY... The boys got Nerf Long Shots (guns), and Sydney got a Nintendo DS game.  Oh, and Sydney didn't get pajamas, as she already had Christmas pjs, so she got a Pink hoodie from Victoria's Secret.

Now, about the guns...

BOYS+GUNS=WAR.

Oh, yes... we had a war at our house.  Running.  Jumping.  Screaming.  Shooting.  Hitting.  Crying.  All out war!!  They ran around my house, screaming at each other, hitting their opponent, crying when hit, and calling each other names for approximately 4 hours... Yes, I said 4 hours.  Finally, I had to give the guns a time out, and banished them to their respective rooms for the night.  Ah... now, we have peace...

We've check on Santa several times tonight, as Nicholas is very curious of his whereabouts.  He's already visited the children in Europe, and is working his way to our chimney... Not much longer, and my kids will be in bed for the night... Not asleep for a while, but in bed, nonetheless.  They will chat a little bit, I'm sure, then drift off to sleep at some point.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow... Hearing the kids coming down the stairs as quietly as possible, and the whispers when they see the things that Jolly Old St. Nick has left for them to find... I hope they get all they desire:)  Hope the Fat Guy leaves me a lil somethin', too:)  The sound of the paper ripping away from the packages, and the smiles on their faces when they realize what is in each box are priceless... I will be playing photographer tomorrow, so I will post when the morning rush for the gifts is over:)

I really cannot believe that tomorrow is Christmas Day.  I can remember, as a child, my mom saying to me, "Time goes by so fast... I can't believe it's here again."  I never really understood what she meant until I had children.  To be quite honest, I thought she was a bit nuts.

Time sure does fly when you have children to watch grow... Right before your very eyes... Bigger and bigger... I guess that's the plan... Who am I to question it??  I only wish it didn't go so fast!!

I'm off to watch A Christmas Story with the family:)  "Don't shoot your eye out!!"
