My plan, as I sit at Ruby Medical Center, is to put into words the past several weeks... nineteen days to be exact. I'm quite certain that I will not be able to do so in one post, so there will be several. And I'm pretty sure I will not be able to accurately convey the level of emotion that has been felt... Not sure why I'm trying, really. Guess it's like therapy for me to write it out.
Mom has been in surgery for almost two hours... a surgery that the doctors have predicted will take between 2.5 and 4.5 hours to complete. I'm hanging in the ICU waiting room, and yes... I have eaten (for those who are concerned about this). After her surgery, she will be in ICU for a day or two, then moved to a regular room for further recovery. My guess is that I will be able to take her home on Wednesday.
I'm trying to decide where to start this 'story', as some readers are aware of what is going on, and others are not. Guess I will start at the beginning and work up to this moment. Please be patient with me as I attempt to get this all out. I will try to be timely in my posts, but may miss a few days here and there, depending on what all is going on here.
Please know that we have felt the prayers that have been sent up on her behalf, and appreciate all of you so very much! The words of encouragement, the scriptures, and the general uplifting from friends and family have been awesome. I want to ask you all to continue to pray, as she is still in surgery, and then will have a bit of recovery ahead of her.
More later.
