Yesterday was Max's first football game of the 09-10 season. We loaded up and traveled to Haskell, where upon arrival, we unloaded and cruised into the stadium with our pack-o-players. Our caravan to the game site looked more like a small funeral procession as we rode into town one SUV after another.
It was a cool day in Oklahoma. Unseasonably so, if you ask me. It's not normal to have temps in the mid to upper 70's at the end of August. Those temperatures are generally saved for mid to late October. It was awfully nice sitting in the stands (shaded, I might add) feeling the gentle breeze of football around us.
The countdown was on, and the game was underway.
Max plays center, so he's in the game quite a bit... which is good for me, because I get lots of pictures. It's good for him, so he's not bored :) He did such a great job yesterday!! I'm so very proud of him, I cannot even explain it. He worked hard, played hard, and had a good time doing it... makes for an excellent day!
Oh, and Chris is a coach. It was great to see the interaction with him and the players, as well as he and Max. Chris thoroughly enjoyed being on the sidelines, calling plays, and interacting with the team. I think this will be a fine season, indeed.
In the end, the Bixby Blue Crew lost by one, with a final score of 31-30. We'll get 'em next time!!
